Most of Typhoo Tea is produced in Moreton situated on the Wirral Peninsula. In 1974 the first tea-packing plant was put in, producing Typhoo tea bags. Until 1978 most of the blending and packing of Typhoo Tea was carried out at the "home" of Typhoo Tea in Birmingham, but, with the need for new, high speed, high efficiency plant, a new location had to be found. The decision was then taken to close the old Typhoo Tea factory and concentrate all tea production at Moreton.
The original factory was built as a biscuit plant in 1953 by Cadbury Schweppes. The factory now produces a range of Typhoo Tea, Heath & Heather, Ridgways, Glengettie, Melrose, Brooke Bond, Fresh Brew and Own Label products.
Typhoo currently employs over 300 staff who work around the clock to produce great tasting and quality teas.
Every person at Typhoo is important. Why not take the time to learn about some of the people that make up the Typhoo Team.
